Kerry-Anne Kitson – Website Design & Social Media

I’m Kerry-Anne and I set up Toucan as a Limited company in 2021 after a hugely successful period as a sole trader.

My early background (pre-family) was with the Metropolitan Police Service as a Senior Crime Analyst. I trained extensively in analytical and research skills and went on to specialise in murder and serious crime.

Following the birth of my daughter in 2003 I took a career break but during this period had somehow to earn a small income to fund my shopping habits! As a self defence trainer for the police, & a qualified aerobics instructor I went on to qualify as a personal trainer and children’s fitness instructor and set up a fitness company. This was all great until a period of illness left me with no balance and no way to continue training.

Shortly after I helped a friend set up a children’s drama and dance company which led to a flourishing relationship where I managed all aspects of the business whilst she did the creative job. Strategy, marketing and finance were all key, and we grew her company from just a handful of children to over 150 children coming through the door every week.

During this period, we took up residency at a 500 seater, Grade II Listed theatre and I very quickly became involved with assisting the theatre make changes to it’s own business model as it was finding itself in difficulty. Again, with an analytical brain, a different approach to the business model and a bit of creativity we were able to turn the theatre back into profit within year one of the plan.

At this stage, I had a decision to make. Whether to stay as an employee with the theatre or to continue to do what I love most, helping business owners grow their businesses. This was a fairly easy decision as it’s the variety I love.

Since early 2019 I have worked with several clients and have worked extensively to develop my website skills. I now focus purely on websites and social media.
